It started out as a wistful thought sitting by the fire in the middle of winter, listening to our collection of CD’s from Summerfolk. It just seemed so logical that the earthbound owners, who are all BIG time music lovers, would want to bring the music to Red Bay. How great it would be to have a concert right in our own front garden! The more we talked about it through the winter, the more determined we became to make it happen. A phone call to a wonderful, talented and generous performer, Karen Holgate, and we had a date!
That was two summers ago. The success of that event inspired us to cast around to see if perhaps there were other artists who would like to share our garden stage. Last year Earthbound Gardens was host to fabulous performances by Karen Holgate and Jan Menkal, Gerry Goldie, The Georgian Gentlemen, and Rob Richie. The overwhelming response to these fine, talented entertainers has encouraged us to expand our concert “series” again this year. Each Sunday in July and August, Earthbound Gardens will offer concerts for your listening pleasure, from 2-4PM.
A few words about our venue: the concerts take place in our cool, shaded front garden, rain or shine…within reason. We have some chairs, but bring your own if you want to be guaranteed a good seat. 
Most of our performers will have CDs available for purchase, so please support them by purchasing a few! We usually have light refreshments available – nothing fancy – iced tea (our herbal blends) coffee if it’s cool, and maybe some cookies or squares.
Of course the greenhouses, gardens and giftshop are open during the concerts. The front garden is quite magical – the noise from the rest of the property doesn’t intrude, and the fabulous music permeates the greenhouse and touring garden providing wonderful ambiance – magical indeed!
O, and did we mention the concerts are free? It’s our little gift to you!
